Trainee CPD for PEAT2 – 2026

Course Fee: £1,300 (including all materials & refreshments)

The Trainee Continuing Professional Development (TCPD) programme is a key stage in the qualification process for trainee solicitors, as prescribed by the Law Society of Scotland. At the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow, we are proud to provide a TCPD programme that fully meets these requirements while being carefully designed to complement, rather than disrupt, the traineeship experience.

A Programme Designed for Trainees

Spaced over six months, the course is delivered by a team of experienced solicitors and is structured to support the development of essential skills in:

  • Legal analysis

  • Argument and pleading

  • Professional communication

The course also provides a unique opportunity for trainees from across Scotland and from diverse practice areas to meet, share experiences, and build valuable professional networks.

Flexible, Practical Learning

With 15 years of proven success, this programme delivers training with minimal intrusion into the daily traineeship. It combines a flexible in-person and online timetable with supervised independent study exercises, many of which can be completed outwith business hours.

Training is grounded in experiential practice through practical case studies, enabling participants to gain meaningful, hands-on exposure to core areas of legal practice. Each session is presented by practitioners who bring their current expertise and insight into the training room.

Course Structure & Content

The Royal Faculty’s TCPD programme ensures that all mandatory elements required by the Law Society of Scotland are covered. This includes a strong emphasis on:

  • Professional Ethics and Standards

  • Professionalism

  • Professional Communication

  • Business, Financial, Commercial, and Practice Awareness

  • Substantive and Relevant Legal Knowledge

Limited Places Available

To maintain the high quality of delivery, the programme is limited to 25 participants. Early booking is strongly recommended to secure a place.
